It's still a relatively new system, they only started using the new item and free item icons a few months ago, so it wouldn't surprise me if they haven't found all the things which can affect it yet. Link to comment

In short: there is no other efficient way to get outfits and mount skins besides $$$.Gold to gem will take a lot of farming so lot's of time and it is probably a lot more efficient to just spend some $ (depends on your RL income).Key farming the same. In my opinion that 1-3 key per week and trying your luck is just a Yes, you need to to start the PoF story. The raptor will be given in the first PoF instnace. The bunny, jackal and skimmer from specific hearts in each map. The girffon requires full pof story completion, 250g and a lot of collections to be completed. The beetle requires completing certain content in living story 4, ep3.
