Here are the basic astrophotography settings that I recommend using with this camera: Use a manual or bulb mode. Set your shutter speed to 15-30 seconds. Use a lens with a wide/fast aperture. Having an f/1.8 as a minimum is highly recommended. Select your lens’s widest possible aperture.
The R6 is less noisy at higher ISO settings compared to the EOS 6D DSLR which is a favorite camera for many astrophotographers. The signal to noise ratio was quite reasonable and the larger light wells/cells on the EOS R6 enabled good light collection when facing the night sky.

I use the M6 for astrophotography and have no problems to report. The M6 II may have less noise due to the high pixel count (which may average out the noise over the higher number of pixels on the sensor). Either way, the results are fairly similar. . Make. Canon.
